  • Victorinox Classic XLS MT

    by admin on Mar.30, 2010 , under Breitling

    En tant qu’ancien pilote, il ya deux montres qui représentent les plus beaux engins absolue pour voler: le X Omega-33, et Breitling Aerospace. Les deux sont le quartz et analogique / numérique, et ont l’air très différents. Message d’aujourd’hui porte sur une montre très similaire qui a une étiquette de prix beaucoup plus raisonnable de l’aérospatiale, la Victorinox Swiss Army Classic XLS MT. Je n’ai pas encore confirmé cela, mais je soupçonne fort qu’il a le même mouvement exact que l’aérospatiale, l’ETA 988.432, ce qui en fait un diable d’un accord. Spécifications du Victorinox sont les suivants:

        * Swiss made, mouvement à quartz suisse.

    * Anti-crystal-sapphire réfléchissants pelliculés.

    * Boîtier en acier inoxydable, revêtement PVD ‘bronze’.

    * Aiguilles et index lumineux heure.

    * Garde de la Couronne.

    * Compte à rebours, réveil, chronomètre, double fuseau horaire, des langues multiples.

    * Water resistant to 100m.

    * 45mm sur 12 m, assez grands.

    Prix courant est représenté par $ 1,095 USD, mais je table sur une réduction à partir de cela. Let’s comparer à la Breitling Aerospace:

        * Boîtier en titane.

    * Night-Vision-lunettes-rétro-éclairage compatibles. (Je n’ai aucune idée de ce que cela signifie, mais il semble certain cool.)

    * Deuxième fuseau horaire, alarme, chronomètre, compte à rebours.

    * Crown axée opération.

    * 100m imperméable.

    * AR-glace saphir couché.

    42mm * 10.4mm par, 38g.

    Picture_1 (Photo coupé depuis le site web Breitling)

    Vous pouvez en sorte de le voir sur les images que les écrans sont identiques, ce qui fait sens que si les mouvements sont les mêmes. Vous pouvez également voir que le Victorinox est plus grande. 45mm est grand, mais pas énorme, je serais heureux d’en porter un.

    Comme pour beaucoup de marques suisses, Breitling bars vente sur l’Internet, mais Amazon les vend à un prix de liste de $ 2,795.

    Il ya deux choses que je n’aime pas sur ce mouvement: l’absence d’une deuxième main (utile pour les 30-second tour de rôle), et la couronne axé opération. Il est vraiment difficile à manipuler alors qu’il portait, ce qui limite la fonctionnalité un peu. Néanmoins, j’espère que je peux essayer la Victorinox, en tant que le prix est beaucoup plus dans mes cordes, et j’aime vraiment à quoi il ressemble.

    Breiting Blacksteel Avenger Seawolf Chronograph

    by admin on Mar.30, 2010 , under Breitling

    Breitling a annoncé un nouveau modèle dans la ligne Avenger: le Chrono Blacksteel. Ce nouveau chronographe apporte des nouvelles technologies intéressant - ainsi qu’une nouvelle allure - pour la plongée du marché du chronographe.

    Les pousseurs Chrono Blacksteel utilisent un système magnétique d’une participation active du chronographe caractéristiques plutôt que de compter sur une connexion physique entre le pousseur et le système de chronographe au coeur de la montre. Cette magie magnétique permet le chronographe être fonctionnelles pour une profondeur maximale de 1000m - une innovation considérable en tant chronographes très peu peuvent être utilisées en plongée, et encore moins à 1000m (un record actuellement détenu par Breitling).

    Breitling alimente le Chrono des Blacksteel avec son mouvement SuperQuartz (Breitling 73 - certifié COSC), qui est dix fois plus précis que les moments de quartz traditionnel. L’acier noirci et rouge sur la conception cadran noir est un agréable changement de rythme par rapport aux styles un peu flashy Breitling produit normalement. Cette Breitling 45.5mm est équipé d’un cristal de saphir et d’un bracelet en caoutchouc, et est limitée à 2.000 pièces.

    The New Breitling Avenger Seawolf Chronograph

    by admin on Mar.30, 2010 , under Breitling

    Plus récent montre Breitling à sortir de Bâle cette année est l’Avenger Seawolf Chronograph. La combinaison de la polyvalence et la fiabilité de la ligne Avenger avec la résistance à l’eau du Seawolf, Breitling semble être passé aussi grave sur la plongée en tant qu’ils sont sur l’aviation.

    Breitling est vantée par la nouvelle Avenger Seawolf que les mondes que chronographe à être étanches et opérationnelles à des profondeurs allant jusqu’à 1.000 mètres (3300 pieds). Cela est impressionnant, mais pas entièrement vrai. Le Sinn U1000 a également la capacité de rester opérationnelle à la même profondeur que le Breitling, mais cela signifie juste qu’ils sont en bonne compagnie.

    Breitling a développé une technologie exclusive qui rend leur calibre 73 SuperQuartz opérationnelles à des profondeurs extrêmes. En utilisant les pousseurs magnétiquement activés, les poussoirs peuvent être activés à travers le cas sans contact direct avec l’intérieur du module, de maintien de la montre parfaitement étanches. Le mouvement est également SuperQuartz thermo compensé ce qui signifie qu’elle peut rendre compte des changements de température qui rendent la plupart des modules de quartz perdre ou gagner du temps. Le résultat est que l’Avenger Seawolf Voilà dix fois plus précis puis un mouvement à quartz standard.

    En plus de la fonction chronographe standard, le Breitling Avenger Seawolf dispose d’une minuterie "régate" qui permettront de mesurer les échelles en dix minutes pour le début d’une course de yacht. L’affaire est en acier inoxydable brossé, et intègre un clapet de sortie d’hélium pour la plongée à saturation extrême et un verre saphir.

    Étant une fan Breitling purs et durs, je crois vraiment qu’ils ont un gagnant sur leurs mains, comme cette pièce est magnifique, fonctionnel, sobre, et impénétrable.

    Introduit le Breitling Professional Airwolf

    by admin on Mar.30, 2010 , under Breitling

    Breitling est bien sûr connu pour leurs montres d’aviation automatique fabriqué en Suisse, mais ils font quelques grandes montres à quartz, aussi bien. Le Airwolf est le tout dernier ajout à sa gamme professionnelle et présente les caractéristiques suivantes:

        * Alarme.

    * Chronomètre avec une résolution de 1/100e de seconde et des temps partiels.

    * Compte à rebours.

    * Fuseaux horaires (avec alarmes indépendantes).

    * Calendrier perpétuel.

    Bien que cela semble être une caractéristique assez standard fixé pour une montre à affichage numérique, la ligne Breitling Professional est tout sauf standard. Ils sont très riches avec des montres de qualité, à mon avis, certains des plus distinctive style là-bas.

    Le Airwolf est clairement liée à la B-1, cependant la lunette Airwolf est directionnelle tandis que la lunette B-1 offre une minuterie de compte à rebours supplémentaires analogique. Le design de l’Airwolf est également légèrement différente, et les poussoirs sont ergonomiquement courbe. Globalement, je pense que le Airwolf est un plus beau regarder, mais les deux sont belles.

    Le Airwolf a un verre saphir antireflet preuve, et est disponible avec un cadran bleu et sangle de cuir, ou un cadran noir et un bracelet en acier. Il n’y a pas beaucoup d’information disponible pour l’instant, mais ce qu’il ya c’est que vous pouvez trouver sur le site de Breitling.

    The Breitling Emergency

    by admin on Mar.23, 2010 , under Breitling

    The Breitling Emergency has got to be one of the most unique watches I’ve ever seen. Breitling primarily makes watches for aviation professionals, and therefore outfits them with appropriate functionality like chronographs, circular slide rules, multiple time zones, etc. But these are all features designed to keep you in the air, on course, and on time. What about a feature designed to offer pilots and crew members assistance when they encounter the unexpected? That’s where the Breitling Emergency comes in.

    The most salient feature of the Breitling Emergency is its ability to broadcast an emergency distress signal. Unscrew the protective cap on the right side of the case, fully extend the antenna, and the Breitling Emergency will broadcast on the 121.5 MHz aircraft emergency frequency for a full 48 hours. The range of the transmission is about 100 miles, which seems reasonably impressive for a watch. An interesting technique might be to outfit an entire crew with these watches, then in the event of an emergency, spread out to create a combined coverage area of several hundred miles.

    Be careful when showing the Breitling Emergency to your friends, however. Apparently, the FAA will slap you with a $15,000 fine if you broadcast a false distress call which will probably result in you having to sell your expensive watch.

    For more information, check the Emergency out on Breitling’s site.

    Breitling Introduces the Airwolf Professional

    by admin on Mar.23, 2010 , under Breitling

    Breitling is of course known for their automatic Swiss-made aviation timepieces, but they make some great quartz watches, as well. The Airwolf is the newest addition to their Professional line and has the following features:

        * Alarm.
        * Stopwatch with a resolution of 1/100th of a second and split times.
        * Countdown timer.
        * Dual time zones (with independent alarms).
        * Perpetual calendar.

    Although this appears to be a pretty standard feature set for a digital watch, the Breitling Professional line is anything but standard. They are very high quality watches with, in my opinion, some of the most distinctive styling out there.

    The Airwolf is clearly related to the B-1, however the Airwolf’s bezel is directional while the B-1’s bezel provides an additional analog countdown timer. The Airwolf’s design is also slightly different, and the pushers are ergonomically curved. Overall, I think the Airwolf is a better looking watch, but both are beautiful.

    The Airwolf has a glare-proof sapphire crystal, and is available with either a blue dial and leather strap, or a black dial and a steel bracelet. There’s not a lot of information available yet, but what there is you can find on Breitling’s site.

    Breiting Seawolf Avenger Blacksteel Chronograph

    by admin on Mar.18, 2010 , under Breitling

    Breitling has announced a new model in the Avenger line: the Blacksteel Chrono. This new chronograph brings some interesting new technology — as well as a great new look — to the dive-chronograph market.

    The Blacksteel Chrono’s pushers use a magnetic system to active the chronograph features rather than relying on a physical connection between the pusher and the chronograph system inside the watch. This magnetic magic allows the chronograph to be functional to a maximum depth of 1000m — a considerable innovation as very few chronographs can be used while submerged, let alone at 1000m (a record now held by Breitling).

    Breitling is powering the the Blacksteel Chrono with its SuperQuartz movement (Breitling 73 - COSC certified) which is ten times as accurate as traditional quartz moments. The blackened steel and red on black dial design is a refreshing change of pace compared to the somewhat flashy styles Breitling normally produces. This 45.5mm Breitling comes fitted with a sapphire crystal and a rubber strap, and is limited to 2,000 pieces.

    “Real Men Wear Black” at least that’s what Breitling is marketing. Breitling has introduced a dynamic variation of its imposing Super Avenger chronograph. The Breitling Super Avenger Blacksteel Chronograph features a 48mm stainless steel case whose stealthy black surface is the result of a highly durable carbon nitride treatment. The dial has a satin black surface and sub-dials with vertically striated motifs showcasing brilliant red accents on the hands, 30-minute chronograph counter, and the tachymeter rehaut. BREITLING

    by admin on Jun.08, 2009 , under Breitling

    6Breitling exhibits each year at the world’s biggest airshow in Wisconsin; to realize why is to recognize an understand the trading philosophy of this impressive independent company. The Breitling watch owner is very likely to be an active person – in outdoor sport, sailing on the world’s oceans, diving beneath them, or flying above them.

    Leon Breitling first opened a workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1884, making pocket watches and chronographs. His son Gaston initiated the production of wristwatches in 1914 to provide for the wartime necessity for synchronized military action: these early models incorporated a stop-watch and had a luminous dial and hands. In 1936, Willy Breitling, Leon’s grandson, launched a chronometer for instrument panels in aircraft cockpits, and the firm has been supplying them ever since, to customers such as Boeing, Douglas and Lockheed.

    breitling8981382In 1952 a logical manufacturing extension to this close association started; this produced the famous Navitimer, a superchronograph designed specially for pilots, and used for preparing flights, checking flight plans and for calculating speeds and fuel consumption. This sturdy mechanical watch is very collectable, and is much preferred to Breitling’s GMT in quartz, in different casings, introduced in 1983. The latter, though, was a novelty at the time, simultaneously showing the time zones; there are two analog and one digital versions with a chronograph; it also shas two separate movements, with independent sources of power, the value of which pilots obviously recognize.

    The first Navitimer went supersonic in 1962; a 24-hour display quartz version of it was launched with the name Cosmonaute, and the astronaut Scott Carpenter was in turn launched with this watch somewhere near his wrist. For less ambitious supersonic air-travelers, Concorde regulars and customers with international business interests, Breitling introduced in 1970 the Breitling GMT, a chronograph with not one, but two, hour hands (one on a 12 hour dial and the other showing 24 hours). A year later the company surely anticipated the needs of even the busiest tycoon: the Breitling Unitime simultaneously shows the time in all the countries of the world.

    4Breitling customers are demanding, and, since Ernest Schneider (a qualified pilot and electronics expert) acquired the company in 1979, he has been most careful to continue its long tradition of observing minutely the requirements of a particular market sector. A classic wristwatch may or may not be very beautiful, but it must always be useful – compatible with its wearer’s needs.

    Breitling’s quartz steel Deep Sea (1985) is such a model, built to withstand underwater pressure at 1,000/3,280ft ( a 10 times safety factor). A gloved diver can record different dive times with the one-direction click-stop bezel timer, and he can read the dial at any depth (the minute hand is much wider than the hour hand, because diving times are naturally short). Divers at great depth often fear the battery running out: the second hand on the Deep Sea progresses only st four-second intervals when its battery begins to run down, thus conserving power and alerting the wearer. This watch also has an unusual patented feature. Helium gas can permeate anything, including a steel watchcase; the Deep Sea would explode on arrival at the decompression stager after a deep dive, if it was not for the twin release valves set into the bottom of the case; thy open fractionally for a few thousands of a second to release accumulated helium, without letting water in.

    A watch that can save life? The Breitling Emergency can, and James Bond 46868747crw_7839fans and other adventurers will greatly approve. The prototype of this amazing watch was introducted at the Basle Fair in 1988, but Ernest Schneider, ever conscious of his alpine military experience, was determined to perfect the piece in terms of battery life, and full production has been slightly delayed. Essentially, the lower part of the case contains a miniature transmitter with an activating antenna, which has a range of between 3 miles and 12 miles, depending on the nature of the surrounding terrain. Its unmodulated AM signal will transmit at two pulses per second, uninterrupted, for between 20 and 28 days, at temperatures between -20’C/-4’F and +100’C/+212’F. The transmitter, which is watertight and works underwater, and be switched on manually, or automatically when the antenna is extended. Additional features include a highly polished watch back, engraved with international air/ground symbols, which can be used as a sunlight feflector, tritium dial and hands for increased legibility, and a silicone rubber bracelet with clever parallel halves, that can be suse for map reading.

    History of Breitling Watches

    by admin on Jun.02, 2009 , under Breitling

    Breitling was founded by Louis Breitling in 1884 in St Imier with the specific purpose to develop chronographs and counters for scientific and industrial applications. The late 19th century witnessed a number of unique industrial developments such as the automobile and the aeroplane. Breitling recognised that these new machines would need timing instruments and soon became a manufacturer of high quality timing instruments. Rapid expansion led to a move to the Swiss town of La-Chaux-de-Fonds in 1892 to accommodate growth.In 1915 Breitling developed their first wristwatch chronograph and went on to make several significant developments in this area. In 1923 they were the first watch manufacturer to introduce an independent push piece for the chronograph, enabling the start and return-to-zero function (previously performed by the winding-crown). Then in 1934 Breitling added a second push piece to the chronograph enabling either cumulative or incremental time recording. These developments made the Breitling watch a favourite amongst pilots.bsw0038h

    In 1936 Breitling was chosen to supply the Royal Air Force with time keeping equipment. In the 40’s Breitling became the US Air Force official pilots watch whilst also supplying the American armed forces. By the 50’s Breitling had cemented their position in the aviation industry and was supplying cockpit clocks for most of the international airlines.

    Over the years, Breitling launched a number of classic watches. 1942 saw the launch of the Chronomat, the first chronograph to be fitted with a circular slide rule. In 1952, the Navitimer was launched, a wrist watch equipped with a so called “navigation computer” that allowed pilots to calculate flight plans. This watch became an instant favourite amongst pilots. In 1962, the Cosmonaute was released providing a 24 hour chronograph. This watch was worn by Scott Carpenter when he flew America’s second ever manned orbital flight in the Aurora 7. In 1969, Breitling was part of a consortium of watch manufacturers that developed the first automatic chronograph, a major break through at the time.

    1979 saw the end of an era for Breitling, with the death of Will Breitling. The company was subsequently bought by Ernest Schneider launching a new era for Breitling. Schneider introduced watch lines for other professions such as yachting and diving, whilst continuing to focus on building high quality, high precision watches for the aviation industry. A number of now classic watches were introduced under Schneider’s leadership such as the new Chronomat (1984), the Aerospace (1985), the Emergency (1995) and the B-1 (1998).

    Today Breitling is one of the leaders in the Swiss watch industry for product development, continually launching innovative new high precision models.

    What makes Breitling Watches Uniquebsw0026elb1

    Breitling declares their watches to be “instruments for professionals”. With a strong focus on the aviation industry, Breitling have developed a number of watch models that have been highly appreciated by pilots and astronauts throughout the history of aviation and aeronautics.
